MBA Programs in Chicago

Although there are many universities that offer MBA programs in Chicago, Illinois only three of those programs are ranked among the best in the country. Both Northwestern and the University of Chicago rank nationally in the top ten with the University of Chicago at number one in the entire country. Northwestern ranks in the top five and the third high ranked school is the University of Illinois which is ranked at number 42. Rankings are conducted by both U.S. News and World report and Business Week.

The number one ranked graduate program in the country is at the University of Chicago. Founded in 1898 and located in Hyde Park on the south side of Chicago, the University of Chicago is world-renowned for it’s research facility and many of the faculty are Nobel Prize winners.

You can choose to participate in either one of the full-time or one of the part-time programs available. The University of Chicago also is known for having the oldest Ph.D. in business administration program in the country. The University of Chicago’s downtown campus is for part-time students and also offers the University’s Executive MBA program. For students overseas, the University of Chicago offers MBA programs in London and Singapore.

Tuition will run you approximately $50,000 per year. The number of students enrolled in the full-time program is over 1,100 MBA students. Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management ranks as one of the top five MBA programs in the country. This private school was founded in 1908 and is located in Evanston, Illinois. Part-time students can enroll in the University’s lake front campus in downtown Chicago and Executive MBA students can attend the University’s campus in Coral Gables, Florida.

As the state of Illinois’ largest university, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is ranked number 42 in the country. The College of Business offers full-time and part-time MBA programs as well as Executive MBA programs. There is an Executive MBA program offered at Illinois’ Warsaw, Poland campus for European students. There are several research centers on the main campus where students can conduct their research like the Center for Business and Public Policy, the Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Golder Center for Private Equity Research.
